Portfolio

These are the best of the best, the cream of the crop, the upper crust of the podcasts that I have produced. These are the ones that I am most proud of. The synthesis of the scripts, delivery, editing, and effects creates the finest examples of what I am capable of. Emotions run the gambit of horror, humor, anger, and clinical professionalism. For the order, I instinctively moved towards chronological order. This was sort of a no brainer as it would show how I’ve developed as an artist over the duration of this course. As an added bonus, the sequencing also establishes a nice balance of fiction and nonfiction. Due to the fact that the number of podcasts chosen is 5, that throws the balance off a tad but not enough to disregard alternating between the two. Not only was this selection my greatest sonic achievements, they are also the projects that I enjoyed making the most. The two audio playgrounds were the two that I attacked with the most zeal. The soundscapes both originated from ideas that I am incredibly proud of coming up with. Finally, the scripted story allowed me to really open up about something that has had a major influence on the lives of me and a lot of my loved ones. I believe that this portfolio shows more than just my skills as a producer of podcasts. A piece of the artist is inevitably placed within the art through the act of creation. I feel that there is a lot of me in these podcasts. More than just my voice, my character shines through in a way that makes these personal. Sure, they may have been created for a class assignment, but more than that they have come from me. They are the products of myself as a unique individual.
